MEMPHIS, Tenn. (WMC) – CodeCrew, a non-profit organization, held its 4th annual ExCITE Awards to recognize achievement in computer science and technology.
The award event was held on May 2 at the Kent in Memphis.
The organization raised $106,000, a record for a single CodeCrew event. The achievement will directly benefit CodeCrew’s continued efforts to educate and empower the next generation of technological innovators.
More than 200 guests and the honorees included:
- AI Advocate of the Year – Dr. Natalie Sephus, Principal Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning Evangelist for Amazon AI
- Chief Technology Officer of the Year – Michelle Borninkhof, Senior Vice President and Chief Information Officer, Customer Satisfaction at AutoZone, Inc.
- Rising Tech Star- Alex Kotran, CEO and co-founder of The AI Education Project (aiEDU)
- Technology Pioneer of the Year – Kathryn Hicks, Founder and Art Director of Creature Studio
- Technology Educator of the Year – Dr. Dedric McGhee – STEM Director of the College, Career, and Technical Education Division of Memphis-Shelby County Schools
- Corporate Advocate of the Year – Lokion
