CLERKS actor Jason Mewes has been seen looking nearly unrecognizable while shopping in Los Angeles 30 years after the cult classic indie comedy was released.
Jason, 50, known for playing Jay – the vocal half of the duo Jay and Silent Bob – was spotted leaving a convenience store on Tuesday.
The Mallrats star, who is normally clean-shaven, sported a scruffier mustache and beard combo as he carried a filled brown paper bag across the street.
The actor’s famously long locks were absent and instead replaced by neatly trimmed hair.
He looked comfy while running errands, donning a loose-fitting black T-shirt, baggy jogger pants, and sneakers.
Jason also ditched the skull cap beanie for which his character Jay is known as he faced the summer heat while shopping.

ABOUT CLERKS
Clerks (1994) is a comedy film that featured the directorial debut of Kevin Smith
Clerks starred Smith as Silent Bob and Jason Mewes as Jay alongside Brian O’Halloran, Jeff Anderson, Marilyn Ghigliotti, Lisa Spoonauer, and Scott Mosier – launching many of the actors careers.
The black-and-white film followed a day in the lives of store clerks Dante Hicks (O’Halloran) and Randal Graves (Anderson) as well as their acquaintances.
The film was shot for $27,575 in the convenience and video stores where Smith worked in real life. Clerks was well received by critics upon its theatrical release, grossing over $4 million in theaters and launching his career as a director.
It spawned a 2006 sequel, Clerks II, and a third installment, Clerks III, was released in 2022.
The film is regarded as a cult classic and a landmark in the 90s independent filmmaking movement, which includes films like Sex, Lies, and Videotape, Reservoir Dogs, and Dazed and Confused, among others.
In 2019, Clearks was selected for preservation in the United States National Film Registry by the Library of Congress as being “culturally, historically, or aesthetically significant.”

“It’ll be a movie that stars Jeff and Brian Cohalloran, with me and Jay in supporting roles.”
He concluded his reveal by adding, “And it’ll be a movie called CLERKS III!”
Due to the screenwriter’s announcement, it was already disclosed that Jeff Anderson and Brian O’Halloran had returned to the motion picture’s cast.
Jeff, who portrays Randall Graves, and Brian, who plays Dante Hicks, are both frequent collaborators of Kevin Smith.
The actors appear together in most of the projects associated with Smith’s shared movie universe that was first established by the initial Clerks in 1994.
In most of Smith’s projects, his character Silent Bob is usually seen with his partner in crime Jay.
Not only did the franchise’s four series regulars come back, but they were also joined by Marilyn Ghigliotti, Rosario Dawson, Trevor Fehrman, and Austin Zajur.
Ben Affleck, Fred Armisen, Sarah Michelle Gellar, and Justin Long all made cameo appearances.
