City police investigate assault on senior

The Dunkirk Police Department said today it is investigating an altercation and assault that occurred last week involving an older adult in their 70s. Officers responded to the incident in the vicinity of East Doughty Street and Franklin Avenue on Oct. 2.

Upon arrival, Dunkirk officers, along with Dunkirk Firefighters and Alstar Ambulance, located the victim, who was subsequently transported to Brooks-TLC Hospital for treatment. The individual has since been transferred to ECMC, and while injuries were sustained, they do not appear to be life-threatening at this time.
