KEARNEY- The Kearney City Council met Tuesday night to discuss several agenda items including the one- and six-year street plan.
Luke Dutcher is an Engineer for the City of Kearney, and while presenting to the city council he spoke about the reasoning for presenting the one- and six-year street plan.
30th Avenue, specifically the bridge, was mentioned in the one-year and six-year plans. The one-year plan showed a project to repair the 30th Avenue Bridge. Councilmember Randy Buschkoetter asked about the timing of the bridge repair due to its proximity to the high school.
The viaduct was briefly brought up during the six-year plan discussion.
The main purpose for widening the bridge would be to prepare the infrastructure for a possible 3rd exit on Interstate 80 on the western side of Kearney.
The public hearing for the one- and six-year plan will be held at the next meeting of the Kearney City Council on September 10th,2024.
Kearney City Council meets on the second and fourth Tuesday of every month.
