The time has come! We went from 32 teams to 14, and now just two. For the second time in three years, the Philadelphia Eagles and Kansas City Chiefs will compete for the Lombardi Trophy.

In 2023, the Chiefs got the upper hand, securing a 38-35 victory, their first of two consecutive Super Bowl wins. Now, two years later, they are looking to become the first team in NFL history to win three in a row. The Eagles are all that stand in their way.

After falling in the Super Bowl two seasons ago, Philadelphia was a bit of a letdown the following season, failing to win the NFC East and getting bounced in the first round of the playoffs. However, the sheer presence of Saquon Barkley in their backfield elevated them to new heights this year. The former New York Giant rushed for over 2,000 yards, becoming just the ninth player ever to accomplish such a feat.

Will the Eagles, with their shiny new weapon, be enough to overcome the daunting dynasty that is the Kansas City Chiefs? Here are our experts’ predictions for Super Bowl 59.

Super Bowl 59 early odds, predictions and picks

Here are our NFL expert picks based on the early odds for Super Bowl 59:

Tyler Dragon: Chiefs 27, Eagles 24

The Eagles have the better roster, and Saquon Barkley’s had an unbelievable year in the backfield. But I’m not betting against Patrick Mahomes and the Chiefs. Kansas City’s won 12 one-score games this season. In addition, the Chiefs have won the last 17 one-score games they’ve played, which is an NFL record. The magnitude of Super Bowl 59 won’t phase the Chiefs. We’ve seen Kansas City make game-changing plays on offense, defense and special teams throughout the season. They’ll do it again in New Orleans and become the first team in NFL history to win three straight Super Bowls.

Jordan Mendoza: Eagles 27, Chiefs 25

Does NFL history finally happen at Super Bowl 59? No matter that circumstance, Kansas City has continuously found a way to win in the postseason, even if there’s some controversy left. The Chiefs defense will have their hands full trying to defend Saquon Barkley and company, which is coming off an electric performance in the NFC championship. The game will really fall on Jalen Hurts, and whether he’s able to orchestrate a passing game that makes life tough for Kansas City. In another Super Bowl that goes down to the final minute, Philadelphia goes down the field and gets the winning score to get revenge on Kansas City and win another Super Bowl title.
