Chesapeake Utilities (NYSE:CPK) said Tuesday it received approval from the Florida Public Service Commission for three projects to expand natural gas infrastructure for customers of its Florida City Gas subsidiary.
The projects in Florida’s Brevard, Indian River and Miami-Dade counties will bring renewable natural gas produced from local landfills into Florida City Gas’ natural gas distribution system.
Chesapeake (CPK) said the projects represent a combined $46M capital investment and are estimated to be completed in next year’s H1.
The largest project, in Miami-Dade County, will bring an additional 6,700 dth/day of capacity to the area through eight miles of new transmission infrastructure and a new district regulator station tied in with Florida City Gas’ distribution system.
