Leisure carrier Canada Jetlines has ceased operations following a failure to secure the funds it needed to continue flying.

The announcement was made on August 15, with immediate effect. Three days earlier, it was announced that board members Ryan Goepel, Ms. Beth Horowitz and Mr. Shawn Klerer had resigned, as well as CEO Brigitte Goersch.

“The company, overseen by an independent Board committee and advised by external advisors, pursued all available financing alternatives,” a statement from the airline read.

“Unfortunately, despite all efforts, the company has been unable to obtain the financing required to continue operations at this time.”

Canada Jetlines had been operating for less than two years, having flown its inaugural flight in September 2022.
The airline operated four Airbus A320-200 aircraft.
