T Bar M joins membership of American Angus Association

T Bar M of Merrill recently became a new member of the American Angus Association®, a national breed organization headquartered in Saint Joseph, Mo. The American Angus Association, with more than 22,000 active adult and junior members, is the largest beef breed association in the world. Its computerized records include detailed information on over 20 million registered Angus. The Association records ancestral information and keeps production records and genomic data on individual animals to develop industry-leading selection tools for its members. The programs and services of the Association and its entities — Angus Genetics Inc., Angus Media, Certified Angus Beef LLC, and the Angus Foundation — help members advance the beef cattle business by selecting the best animals for their herds and marketing quality genetics for the beef cattle industry and quality beef for consumers.

D’s Pizza and Dogs moving to new eastside location

D’s Pizza and Dogs will move to 1616 River St. in Merrill the end of July. They have purchased the building which was formerly a laundromat and are remodeling it into their new restaurant space. They are hoping to be open in the new location soon! Watch their facebook page for updates.

Kreager Properties purchases former Victory Lane property

Kreager Properties, owned by Wayde and Dawn Kreager – who also own DuWayne Kreager Insurance [with six offices in north central Wisconsin, including one in Merrill] – has purchased the vacant lot at W4998 Pinewood Ln. where Victory Lane was previously located. [Victory Lane closed after an Aug. 26, 2017, fire heavily damaged the building.] Dawn Kreager said they are still considering different options for the lot, but “there are no plays yet for future development.”

Merrill Walmart 2024 renovation project

The Merrill Walmart underwent a 2024 renovation project, culminating in a grand re-opening event on May 17, 2024. In addition to reorganizing a significant footprint within the store, the clothing section and selection saw a new look, and a beautiful mural representing some of Merrill’s landmarks was painted in the entrance. Local students from Washington School came to sing, the VFW presented the colors, and representatives from the Merrill Chamber and City of Merrill were in attendance and spoke. Walmart also made several donations to community organizations as part of the re-opening ceremony, including: Little Lakes Memories, Merrill Area 4-H Clubs, the Merrill Division of the North Central Boy Scouts, and the Lincoln County Humane Society.
