BUFFALO — The Buffalo Brawlers are Lake Erie Region champions.

The Brawlers defeated the Dunkirk Chillerz, 29-15 Sunday afternoon in the North American Cornhole Association (NACA) region final at the Aloft Buffalo Hotel, known as 500 Pearl.

The Brawlers improved to 11-0 on the season and took home a $10,000 prize as a result of the win.

The Brawlers feature Dunkirk native Jennifer DePasquale, a former multi-sport standout athlete at Dunkirk High School. DePasquale played both softball and basketball collegiately at Alfred State, then concluded her softball career at Lock Haven University in Pennsylvania, where she also played rugby. She also coached at Gowanda and Fredonia State.

Because of the team’s perfect record on the year, the Brawlers advance to the overall NACA Championship game next weekend, where the Brawlers will face the winner of the matchup between the Tri-State Region Champion and the Ohio Region Champion. The winner of the overall NACA Championship game claims the league’s $30,000 prize.
