JACKSON, Miss. (WLBT) -Not even the cold weather could keep away shoppers from taking advantage of those Black Friday deals here at the Outlets of Mississippi in Pearl.
Now shoppers got here early Friday morning to take advantage of those deals. Rickey O’Quinn was shopping with his son today and said, “My wife dragged me out of bed early this morning. She’s a bargain finder, and we’re here trying to find bargains”
These Black Friday shoppers were met with little to no lines. Stores were busy. However, with many stores having sales all week, this may have contributed to the smaller crowds. Rickey’s son, Christopher O’Quinn said, “So we started off with Nike, had some great clearance deals in there. You know, it’s not as congested and hectic as it was. It’s pre-COVID. But you know we’re enjoying it. We’re definitely not complaining about that because the lines are a little shorter So yeah, out here with Mom, Dad. Mom is doing most of the guidance as far as the shopping goes, but we’re having fun.”
Black Friday is more than just one day of shopping. That is something from the past. With Cyber Monday just two days after Black Friday, deals have evolved into week-long sales.
Christopher O’Quinn said, “Yeah. So, me, as a millennial, you know, I’m more accustomed to, you know, the online shopping and online… model in general, so that’s why I do most of my shopping with when I’m with parents, I like to go out and, you know, get a little traditional shopping then. So, I don’t mind. It’s definitely… kind of like a blast from the past coming out here. So, it’s different, but it’s good.”
Many stores in our area have sales going on all week, including the Bass Pro shops here in Pearl.
