Biz Buzz: Gyro restaurant planned for St. Cloud

ST. CLOUD — A new gyro restaurant is slated for St. Cloud.

Urban Grill & Gyro will sell gyros, wraps, burgers, rice bowls, a signature chicken biryani and more, according to a

Facebook post from the restaurant.

The menu will also include chicken tenders, Philly cheesesteaks, lamb chops, loaded fries and more.

The restaurant is preparing to launch and hasn’t announced an opening date. Urban Grill & Gyro will be at 1350 15th Ave. SE in St. Cloud.

The closing date for St. Cloud’s Party City store is currently unknown.

The party supply retailer announced in December that it is closing all of its more than 700 stores, according to

CNN.

The local store, at 3959 Second St. S, is one of 10 throughout Minnesota.

Party City previously filed for bankruptcy in 2023, according to the

Securities and Exchange Commission.

CNN indicated the shutdowns will be finalized at the end of February.

Stearns Electric raises $5,000

Stearns Electric Association raised more than $5,000 for Jack’s Basket, a Minnesota-based nonprofit organization with a mission to support families and celebrate babies with Down syndrome, according to a release.

It was part of the Stearns Electric Association’s 17th annual employee charity event. Employees vote on an organization to receive proceeds through silent auctions, direct contributions and other events, according to the release.

Jack’s Basket

focuses on equipping providers with tools to communicate and discuss Down syndrome, connecting parents to resources and sharing stories to change the narrative around the syndrome, the release said. The organization is based in Arden Hills.

Since its inception in 2008, the Stearns Electric Charity Event has raised more than $65,000 for 17 organizations.

Stearns Electric Association has provided utility services to central Minnesota since 1937 with more than 28,000 members in six counties.
