MEQUON — A distribution partnership among Mequon-based Big League Distributing, Minocqua Brewing Company and Equality Vines was announced last week.

“We are excited to work with Big League Distributing to expand distribution of our cause-based wines throughout Wisconsin,” Equality Vines Owner Matt Grove said about the three entities joining to promote equality and offer an array of premium alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages to Wisconsin residents. “Working in collaboration with Minocqua Brewing Company and Big League Distributing, we aim to make a positive impact and support important causes through our portfolio of exceptional wines.”

According to a press release, Big League Distributing is Wisconsin’s first such minority founded and owned business, distributing wines and spirits to restaurants, taverns, retailers and major event operators.

The company includes Minocqua Brewing Company and Equality Vines products in its portfolio.

It is also the exclusive Midwest distributor of Baker Family Wines, which was founded and is coowned by former Major League Baseball player, manager and World Series champion Dusty Baker.

“This partnership marks a meaningful development for Big League Distributing, as our company works to grow and build our reputation as efficient, reliable, and thoughtful wholesalers,” BLD co-founder Larry Hisle, Jr. said. “We are honored to work with Equality Vines and Minocqua Brewing Company to bring high-quality, causedriven wines, beers and non-alcoholic beverages to Wisconsin. Our shared values and commitment to equality make this collaboration truly special.”

Equality Vines is a cause-based wine portfolio located in Sonoma County, Calif. that donates a percentage of its proceeds to organizations dedicated to equality, while Minocqua Brewing Company is dedicated to not only producing high-quality craft beers and beverages, but also promoting social justice through their initiatives and partnerships, according to the press release. They operate two locations: their main taproom in Minocqua and a second one in Madison.

Both businesses collaborated to make their CHOICE line of wines–dedicated to supporting organizations fighting for reproductive freedom.

“Partnering with Equality Vines and Big League Distributing aligns perfectly with our mission to support social justice initiatives,” said Kirk Bangstad of Minocqua Brewing Company. “We’re thrilled to expand access to our Wisconsin customers and to continue to make a difference in our state.”
