Online shopping can be risky when you can’t see the product in person and social media has made it much easier for companies to target your interests.
Ads that are catered to you can pop up, but after you make a purchase, the company can disappear just as quickly.
So when you’re making an online purchase be careful about where you’re buying from, according to the Better Business Bureau (BBB).
“It’s really important that beyond your shopping you also check your credit card and other bank statements often so you can report any issues as quickly as possible,” said BBB President and CEO Michele Mason.
Mason says to always make sure you use a credit card rather than a debit card or other form of payment when online shopping.
That way you can dispute it if a fraudulent charge shows up.
