BA’s On Business back online but not without glitches

Must read

The On Business loyalty scheme for small and midsized customers of British Airways came back online in June after some 18 months out of action – but users have continued to report problems with the platform.

Customers were informed in the latter half of June that the online platform was available and users could redeem On Business points on flights and upgrades, make new bookings and check points balances. Communications from British Airways also noted that it had added ‘an extra layer of protection’ by using multi-factor authentication in the log-in process.

However, customers have reported problems with logging on using the new process and also with card payments failing. BTN Europe has contacted the airline for further information but had not received a response at the time of publication.

British Airways in its communications to customers – and online – noted that all On Business points due to expire at the end of June 2024 have been extended until 31 December 2024.

Whilst the platform was out of action, On Business users were able to book and manage their flights manually by phone and continued to earn points by quoting their membership number when booking.

On Business members can earn points on bookings with British Airways, American Airlines, Iberia, and other eligible partners. Members can progress through tiers based on their annual spend, which increase the rate at which they accrue points. These points can then be used for reward flights or cabin upgrades.
