FREDONIA — Led by a pair of individual victories by Olivia Burlingame and Elizabeth Pucci-Schaefer, Fredonia/Dunkirk/Forestville/Pine Valley/Cassadaga Valley knocked off Franklinville 131-47 in a Chautauqua-Cattaraugus Athletic Association swimming & diving meet Tuesday evening.
Burlingame captured the 200-yard individual medley (2:42.98) and the 100-yard butterfly (1:20.43), while Pucci-Schaefer won the diving (325.13 points) as well as the 100-yard freestyle (1:08.30).
The ‘Billies’ team victory came on the heels of fine performances by their divers at the Iroquois Invitational last Saturday.
Pucci-Schaefer won the event, breaking the pool record by more than 50 points and securing a spot at the New York State Public High School Athletic Association Championships for the sixth year in a row. Meanwhile, Leah Marsh scored a personal-best 464.05 and Brooklyn Smith, a first-year diver, successfully competed in her first 11-dive event.
