B.C. chooses Emil Anderson Construction for Highway 1 work east of Revelstoke – Journal Of Commerce

REVELSTOKE, B.C. – The Province of British Columbia has selected Emil Anderson Construction as the preferred proponent to design and build the Highway 1 Jumping Creek to MacDonald Snowshed project near Revelstoke, B.C.

The Jumping Creek project will improve approximately 2.6 kilometres of Highway 1 between the recently completed Illecillewaet project and the Jack MacDonald Snowshed, a release said.

The highway will be expanded to four lanes and a median will be added along with roadside barriers.

Early construction is planned in the fall and major construction is anticipated to start in spring 2025.

The total estimated project budget is $245 million with B.C. providing $200 million and the federal government contributing the remainder as part of the New Building Canada Fund.

The project is estimated for completion by spring 2028.
