Arkansas airports receiving grants to improve infrastructure

WASHINGTON, D.C. (KAIT) – Two Northeast Arkansas airports will receive federal funding to make improvements.

The U.S. Department of Transportation’s Federal Aviation Administration announced Tuesday it is awarding $566.4 million via 296 grants in 47 states to modernize airports.

Ten Arkansas airports will receive the funding, including Corning Municipal Airport and Arkansas International Airport in Blytheville.

Corning will receive $384,827 to build a new terminal, while the Blytheville airport will receive $307,710 to rehabilitate its taxiway.

The Bill and Hillary Clinton National Airport/Adams Field in Little Rock will also receive $725,000 to reconstruct its terminal.
