ELKINS — The Area 2 American Legion tourney gets underway today at West Virginia Wesleyan College.
Elkins Post 29 is the fifth seed and faces fourth-seed Clarksburg Post 13 at 1 p.m. today.
In other action today, host squad and third seed Buckhannon Post 7 battles No. 2 Bridgeport Post 68 at 4 p.m.
Morgantown Post 2, which captured the regular-season title with a perfect 8-0 record in league games, faces the winner between Elkins and Clarksburg at 7 p.m.
Meanwhile, the Elkins-Clarksburg loser squares off against the Buckhannon-Bridgeport loser at 1 p.m. Thursday in an elimination contest.
The double-elimination tournament runs through Saturday, if necessary.
The West Virginia American Legion Tournament begins July 25 in Martinsburg.
