Apprenti, which offers registered apprenticeship programs that focus on placing underrepresented groups in the technology industry, and Diversity Way-Maker, a consulting firm that enables equitable and inclusive workplaces, today announced a strategic partnership to increase diversity, equity, and inclusion across the technology industry.
The partnership is built on a shared commitment to empower underrepresented groups and create more inclusive workplace cultures, ultimately helping to bridge the tech-talent gap, according to a news release.
The shortage of available tech talent will grow to 1.2 million people by 2026, according to research from the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics cited in today’s release.
By integrating Apprenti’s apprenticeship programs with Diversity Way-Maker’s leadership development resources, businesses will have a pathway for meeting their diversity goals while addressing the demand for tech talent, the groups said.
“A diverse workforce is critical to the future of innovation and growth in the tech sector,” Jennifer Carlson, executive director of Apprenti, said in the release, noting the partnership will help ensure organizations are fully equipped to attract, retain, and build a workforce that better represents the community.
Yolánda Chase, founder and CEO of Diversity Way-Maker Consulting LLC, added in a statement, “Our collaboration with Apprenti offers businesses a unique opportunity to invest in equity and inclusion initiatives through competency development for leaders while embracing apprenticeships as a viable solution to bridge the tech talent gap.”
