AUSTIN, Texas — The Austin Police Department is investigating a shooting incident involving aggravated assault in South Austin on Tuesday.
Police say dispatch received a “multitude” of callers reporting shots fired at around 5:39 p.m. in the 9900-11000 block of South Interstate 35 Frontage Road.

Police believe there is no immediate threat to the public in the area. It’s unknown if anyone was injured.
Police believe multiple crimes may be involved.
Slaught Lane to Southbound Onion Creek Parkway Frontage Road has been shut down while law enforcement investigates.
APD’s Aggravated Assault Unit is on scene and investigating this as an aggravated assault.
