PADUCAH, Ky. — Amazon.com Services LLC is opening a last-mile distribution facility in Paducah, to enhance Amazon’s ability to serve the Western Kentucky region. The new 72,500-s.f. facility is located in Industrial Park West at 5501 Commerce Drive.
Greater Paducah Economic Development (GPED), along with fellow community partners, worked closely with the Amazon Team over the past 18 months to bring this project to Paducah.
“Paducah, McCracken County is the regional epicenter of the surrounding four state area representing over 500,000 people. Amazon’s siting of the distribution facility in our community validates the strong labor and commuter inflow patterns we have in Paducah,” said Bruce Wilcox, President/CEO of GPED.
“Amazon will be delivering packages to residents who proudly call our four-state region home. The Amazon team has been a great partner throughout the process, and we are excited about the new facility, the jobs, and the capital investment Amazon and its partners are bringing to our community.
Local officials have widely supported the project.
“We often talk about Paducah-McCracken County’s centralized location for distribution, and we are honored that Amazon made the decision to build its Last Mile Distribution Facility in Industrial Park West,” Paducah Mayor George Bray said. “The GPED staff and board have worked tirelessly to attract companies looking to locate in Paducah. This is a big win witnessed by a great partnership for our community and a significant investment by Amazon.”
McCracken County Judge Executive Craig Clymer added, “The Amazon last-mile delivery center is another piece of the puzzle in strengthening our community as a hub for growth in our own and surrounding communities. Amazon will be an outstanding partner with us.”
The new facility is expected to create significant employment opportunities and further advance Paducah’s position as a growing logistics and distribution center in the region.
