Ahead of its launch sometime next year, Google’s Pixel 9a has surfaced again in another hands-on leak that shows off an alleged prototype.
We’ve seen the Pixel 9a before. A prototype showed up in August with renders of the device hitting the web a few weeks later. In both cases, the updated design of the mid-range device ditches Google’s signature camera bar or “visor” design that’s been used since the Pixel 6 launched.
This week, another pair of leaked images have surfaced, with Fenibook on Twitter/X sharing two images of what appears to be a Pixel 9a prototype. The images show the marks that we’ve seen on Pixel prototypes in the past, but there’s no new information here. The camera is still in a standalone module, with the flash off to the right side.
The view of the screen offers a slightly better indication of the bezels, which appear in line with previous generations, while both images pretty clearly show the flat edges of the device.

Previously leaks have suggested Pixel 9a will be powered by a modified Tensor G4 processor, will be slightly larger than Pixel 8a, has a new primary camera and a much bigger battery, and could launch as soon as March 2025.
