‘Alien: Romulus’ Star Archie Renaux Teams With Arjun Rose to Launch Production Company A2R2

Must read

Alien: Romulus star Archie Renaux is back on land with sights set on a new earthly venture — a production company in partnership with Arjun Rose. The two didn’t have to search far and wide for a name of their new initiative by calling it A2R2.

Renaux and Rose met in 2016 at The Unseen, an acting academy and management firm founded by Rose. After Renaux walked through its doors, one of the first students to do so, they formed a bond that began as teacher-peer before morphing into professional status as manager, friend and cheerleader in helping Renaux launch his acting career and secure additional reps at the Artists Partnership.

Renaux said he’s stoked to take their partnership to the next level. “The journey began in the classroom, where Arjun was writing and directing scenes that I was acting in, and we were filming them together on an iPhone,” said the actor, also well known for starring in Shadow and Bone. “Now, we’re here, taking that same passion and creativity to a much bigger scale by producing movies. I’m incredibly proud of the work I’ve done as an actor over the past few years, and I’m really excited to take our creative filmmaking to the highest level with this new venture.”

Added Rose: “It’s a dream come true to be able to collaborate on projects that we’re deeply passionate about. This partnership allows us to not only explore creative storytelling but to also build on the connection we’ve built over the past eight years. I’m extremely excited for what’s to come.”

What’s to come is a slate of projects that already includes the feature film Tolle. Penned by Rose, it’s described as murder mystery that blurs lines between humanity and technology and explores the nature of truth, consciousness and the legal frameworks of the future. Renaux and Rose will produce while Dr. Daniel Hulme, a thought leader in artificial intelligence, is on board as an executive producer.

Renaux next stars in Gulfstream’s romantic dramedy Falling, opposite K.J. Apa and Isabel May. His other credits include Upgraded opposite Camilla Mendes; The Greatest Beer Run Ever opposite Russell Crowe, Bill Murray and Zac Efron; Lena Dunham’s Catherine Called Birdy, Marvel’s Morbius opposite Jared Leto; Voyagers opposite Lily-Rose Depp and Tye Sheridan; and The Jetty. He broke out with early roles on the series Hanna opposite Esme Creed-Miles, Mireille Enos and Joel Kinnaman and Gold Digger opposite Julia Ormond and Ben Barnes.

Rose, a former futures trader, transitioned to filmmaking with Demons Never Die. He made his directorial debut on the horror thriller from a script he wrote. The project caught the eye of Idris Elba, who boarded it as an executive producer. His short film, Sadhbh, won a Ros Hubbard Award at the Irish Film Festival for star Laura Whitmore. Rose has also collaborated on projects for Working Title and Lionsgate and co-founded the London event Laughing Boy. At The Unseen, he’s also worked closely with British actor Solly McLeod. As a producer, Rose also previously co-founded Schneider Media Investments alongside entrepreneur Sonny Schneider.
