Agencies in Jamestown region awarded Victims of Crime Act grants

BSIMARCK — The North Dakota Department of Corrections and Rehabilitation announces 37 sub-recipients of the fiscal year 2025 Victims of Crime Act (VOCA) grant.

The VOCA Assistance Grant funding is meant to provide local agencies, that specialize in services for victims of crime, a source of funding to offer direct services to victims of crime. In 2023, a total of 17,444 North Dakotans received direct services with the VOCA grant fund from the ND DOCR.

Victims’ needs were met through a variety of services by local agencies across North Dakota. Some of these services include crisis intervention, forensic exams, safe shelters, and personal advocacy.

A total of $3.5 million will be awarded. The following Jamestown area recipients are among those receiving funds:

  • Abused Persons Outreach Center Inc., Valley City
  • Barnes County Victim Assistance Program, Valley City
  • Kedish House, Ellendale
  • Safe Shelter, Jamestown
  • Stutsman County Victim Assistance Program, Jamestown
