ACUSHNET — Superintendent Dr. Paula Bailey and Principal Leah Chesney are proud to share that Acushnet Elementary School has been ranked among U.S. News & World Report’s Best Schools.
U.S. News released its Best Elementary and Middle Schools rankings in November. Acushnet Elementary School was ranked 104 out of 1,560 elementary schools in the state, placing it in the top 7 percent.

U.S. News ranks schools based on performance on state-required tests, graduation rates, and how well students are prepared for high school. Elementary, middle, and high schools are recognized if their overall score is in the top 40 percent.
Acushnet Elementary School, which serves about 556 students in Grades PreK-4, was recognized for 62% math proficiency and 60% reading proficiency.
“We are thrilled that Acushnet Elementary School was named among U.S. News & World Report’s Best Schools for 2025,” Principal Chesney said. “This ranking reflects the high-quality education we provide to our students every day while preparing them for future success.”
