Joey’s Diner in Waukesha opening soon

Must read

The Big Boy statues standing in front of the former Mama Ducky’s location at 290 W. Main St. in downtown Waukesha have been joined by another clue as to what diners can expect. A sign saying Joey’s Diner has been placed on the main entrance and the owner says he is excited to bring a diner-type experience to the downtown.

Owner Joey Gudgeon owned several George Webb Restaurants previously and currently owns neighboring Waukesha Evolution bar and the Picky Picky Resale Shop across the street. He said customers would ask him when he was going to open a restaurant again where “they could come and enjoy food, conversation and counter seating. I was motivated by previous customers as well as my drive and desire to want to serve the community.”

Furthermore, Gudgeon said he wants to serve “good Wisconsin fresh food with a retro vibe.”

Gudgeon highlighted that he is grateful for the community’s support through the ups and downs of life.

“As I always wear my heart on my sleeve, I can’t wait to get back to serving them in a diner setting,” he said.

Gudgeon hopes to open Joey’s Diner by mid-October.
