If you make it through a Disney World vacation without seeing ANY construction equipment, it might be a miracle!
Construction is pretty common in Disney World, because things are constantly changing and getting refurbished! From little things like paint touch-ups to bigger ride closures, Disney is constantly working to improve its services. And recently, one resort has been having a major dining update!
Pop Century Resort has been undergoing a major construction project with the refurbishment of Everything POP Shopping & Dining. The gift shop/food court takes up a large portion of the main building of the hotel.
During the refurbishment, snagging food and doing shopping has been a little bit complicated. Thankfully, there are signs around the lobby to direct you where you need to go.
As of our most recent visit, the gift shop was partially closed, but still had a smaller selection of merchandise available. You’ll have to shop around those construction walls for now!
The good news is that much of the dining area has reopened, and it has been touched up!
We noticed new decor with bright colors and fun patterns. It really livens the place up and makes it look less outdated.
They refurbished the seating as well. There are booths and tables spread throughout — with a resort of this size, you’ve got to have plenty of places to sit!
There are still some tarps and walls up around the area, but things are looking a lot better than they were a few weeks ago. This refurb is set to last until November 30th, so if you’re traveling between now and then, be prepared.
They’ve also got a to-go area set up inside the Fast Forward Arcade from 7AM-10PM. This is a great spot to drop in and grab a quick bite if you don’t need to sit down.
