TROY recognized among best regional universities in the South by U.S. News & World Report – Troy Today

Troy University has been recognized among the best regional universities in the South, by U.S. News and World Report’s 2025 Best Colleges rankings.

TROY ranked 45th among all regional universities in the South and 19th among public regional universities in the South. The University also ranked 21st in Best Colleges for Veterans and 47th among Best Value School – Regional Universities South.

The rankings, which were released this week, consider several factors of academic quality, including graduation and retention rates, social mobility, graduation rate performance, undergraduate academic reputation, student-faculty ratio, and faculty resources, among others.

The latest rankings, now in their 40th year, assessed nearly 1,500 U.S. colleges and universities to assist parents and students in the college selection process.

“At Troy University, the most important thing we do is serve our students,” said Dr. Jack Hawkins, Jr. “I believe our commitment to quality academics and affordability, along with the culture of caring that exists at TROY, resonates well with our students and continues to bring national recognition from organizations such as U.S. News & World Report.”

The U.S. News & World Report recognition is the most recent ranking to include TROY. Other recent rankings received by the University include: The Princeton Review’s “Best of the Southeast” for the 20th consecutive year, Niche.com’s “Best Online Colleges in America” and G.I. Jobs magazine’s Military Friendly Schools. Several of the University’s programs have earned recognition this year, including the online graphic design program, which was ranked the best in the country by Forbes Advisor, the online master’s program in nursing, which was ranked among The Princeton Review’s best online nursing programs and the Master of Business Administration program, which was named among the top 100 MBA programs in the nation by Fortune Recommends.
