South Jersey’s latest Wingstop restaurant location has opened in Glassboro at the Collegetown Shopping Center, in a unit next to GNC and close to the new Five Below and Ulta.
42Freeway first wrote about plans for the Glassboro Wingstop back in March of this year.
By this time I think everyone is aware of Wingstop, but I’ll say they are a quick serve restaurant focused on chicken wings, tenders and sandwiches with the choice of 12 different signature sauces. For sides they also offer fresh natural cut french fries in a variety of delicious styles, cajun fried corn and veggie sticks.
Wingstop locations typically are developed in strip malls although the new Pennsauken location is a larger free-standing unit. With a focus on takeout and delivery most area stores typically have enough space for the kitchen, customer order/wait area and a few indoor dining tables.
I’ve written about several of their openings in South Jersey and while there is definitely seating at this Glassboro location, it seems like it’s one of the smaller configurations… but the wings and sandwiches still pack the full flavor!
I stopped in at the brand new Glassboro location just a few days ago and already the place was packed. It was midweek in the middle of the afternoon, and numerous customers were sitting at the tables eating, and many other customers were waiting for their order.
Which honestly is a Wingstop experience I see over and over and over again… not only when I write about a new location but even on the occasional times when I stop in to pick up some wings for lunch.
For Wingstop, this is an ongoing expansion effort in South Jersey started in 2021 when they first entered the South Jersey market with their Deptford location.
They have since added locations on Blackwood-Clementon Road (2022), Cross Keys Road (2024) and Rt 130 Pennsauken (2024). Popular Facebook page “A View From Evesham” just posted recently that a location is coming to Voorhees at the Eagle Plaza! (Facebook)
Wingstop Glassboro Collegetown Shopping Center
As mentioned this new Wingstop is located in the Collegetown Shopping Center in Glassboro.
The unit was previously a larger Rainbow clothing store which has been split into two separate units… The other one will become a My Salon Suite location.
This is another set of big signings for the Brixmor owned shopping center, which has completely reinvented itself over recent years.
Recently Collegetown added a new Five Below as well as an Ulta Store (taking over the former Staples location). Just a few years ago they completed the transformation of the former Kmart building into a LIDL, Big Lots and Ross store.
For Wingstop they offer a consistently delicious meal at a reasonable price point… which seems to keep people coming back again and again. A key part of their model is to focus on a few things… and do them well.
All Wingstop locations in South Jersey have a very similar design to them, offering a simple menu that is, consistent, and delicious.
I’ve tried their wings a few times and even had their chicken sandwich when I stopped in at the Sicklerville NJ location and found all my meals to be very good. For my Glassboro visit I just didn’t have enough time to wait to order!
Which is an important thing to call out… like most quick casual restaurants today likely the best move is to order online so that your order is ready when you arrive.
The plan must be working because the company and its stock price keeps rising. I should follow my own advice as when I called this out in February I commented they had doubled from $150 to $300 in a year. Well guess what, today as I write this their stock is now trading at $415 dollars!
