Opera House to Screen ‘The Fabulous Four’

Must read

Bette Midler, Susan Sarandon, Sheryl Lee Ralph and Megan Mullally star in “The Fabulous Four.”

The Cinema Series at the 1891 Fredonia Opera House Performing Arts Center continues with “The Fabulous Four,” starring Bette Midler, Susan Sarandon, Sheryl Lee Ralph and Megan Mullally. It will be screened on Saturday and Tuesday at 7:30 p.m.

The film is an uproarious comedy about a group of life-long friends (Sarandon, Mullally, and Ralph) who travel to Key West, Fla, to be bridesmaids in the surprise wedding of their best college girlfriend Marilyn (Midler). Over the course of one outrageous trip, sisterhoods are rekindled, the past resurfaces, and there are enough sparks, raunch, and romance to change all their lives in unexpected ways.

Critic Anne Brodie calls the film “ a hoot, easy, (with a) funny script and the energy and familiarity of the four stars.” ScreenRant calls it “a delightful star-studded friendship comedy that embraces its silly side.” The Hollywood Reporter says it “hits the bull’s-eye.” Rated R for drug use, some sexual material, and language, “The Fabulous Four” runs one hour, 38 minutes.

Tickets are available at the door for $7 (adults), $6.50 (seniors & Opera House members) and $5 (students) the night of each screening. The Opera House is equipped with assistive listening headsets for the hearing-impaired. Simply request one from any usher or staff member.

The Opera House Cinema Series is generously sponsored by Lake Shore Savings Bank. In addition, Opera House programming is made possible by the United Arts Appeal of Chautauqua County.
