U.S. News & World Report has just released its Best Colleges rankings for 2025. In the private university category, Princeton University claims the top spot, followed by Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) in second place and Harvard University in third.
For public universities, the University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA) leads the pack, with the University of California, Berkeley taking second place and the University of Michigan, Ann Arbor rounding out the top three.
