Monumental Sports & Entertainment and KPMG Announce Strategic Partnership on Fan Experience and Venue Transformation – Monumental Sports

Washington, D.C. (September 24, 2024) – Today, Monumental Sports & Entertainment (MSE) unveiled a new strategic partnership with KPMG LLP, U.S. audit, tax, and advisory firm, as the organization’s Official Consulting & Advisory Partner, an expanded role from the existing partnership between the two companies. Under the new relationship, KPMG will employ their organization’s capabilities for driving value from innovation to help MSE redefine the future of sports by designing a leading-edge fan experience, tech-enabled venue operations, and community revitalization. The multi-year collaboration will be across the entire Monumental enterprise.  

KPMG will play a major role in both enhancing the fan experience and community impact of the current Capital One Arena, home to the Washington Capitals (NHL) and Washington Wizards (NBA). KPMG will also guide the wide-ranging technology transformation and modernization of the arena and expansion of Monumental’s business and hospitality operations in downtown Washington, D.C.

Monumental’s expanded relationship with KPMG will involve reimagining the entire fan experience and journey for all guests who come through Capital One Arena’s doors. KPMG will also establish a world-class technology platform to deliver unique, planned, and streamlined experiences to the fan—both in person and at home.

Not only will this agreement allow KPMG to utilize a variety of media domestically – most notably Monumental Sports Network (MNMT) and team digital networks – as a presenting partner of a multi-year content series highlighting the Capital One Arena transformation, but the NBA International Team Marketing partnership rights allow the fan experience transformation story to be shared internationally. 

Since 2022, MSE has hosted a KPMG Ignition Center within an arena suite at Capital One Arena. The first-ever ‘business suite’ is equipped with the latest technology and serves as a 365-days-a-year meeting place for KPMG and its clients to collaborate and solve business problems together, at any time of the day, regardless of the arena’s event schedule. Today’s announcement builds upon that foundation of innovation and represents a new phase of reimagining the fan experience and tech-enabled venue operations.
