Delight at man’s method of transporting groceries: “No bags, no problems”

Grocery shopping can sometimes be strenuous, especially when multiple bags are involved. However, one man recently devised a solution that has left the internet feeling envious.

A TikTok clip shared by Jeremy’s wife, Olivia White (@olivialaurawhite), has racked up almost 13 million views and showcases his new shopping contraption. In the video, Olivia explains that Jeremy finds shopping annoying due to the “logistics of getting everything home.” Judging by the foldable cart equipped with two storage boxes, he clearly doesn’t enjoy carrying bags.

White states that he is “so proud” of his purchase, and it seems he’s not the only one impressed. During the September 21 video, which documents his shopping trip from start to finish, he even receives a compliment from the cashier, who says, “It’s very innovative,” confirming that he made a great decision.

As he leaves the store, pushing the cart with two filled storage boxes, he says, “No bags, no problems.” He then effortlessly loads the car by placing the containers in the trunk and folding the cart back up.

The clip is captioned, “Now it’s his turn for the random purchases. I must say, his are a bit more practical,” suggesting that White is usually the one making impulsive buys, a sentiment that may resonate with many women.

According to a 2023 Statista survey, both men and women frequently encounter products through social media during their shopping journey. More than 60 percent of women and over half of men reported discovering products via social media. Notably, women are more likely than men to discover new products through social media and engage more frequently in product research on these platforms.

Statistics show that women usually take the lead in grocery shopping in U.S. households consisting of married or cohabiting parents and one or more children under the age of 18. Pew Research Center analysis found that 80 percent of mothers say they are the household member who usually prepares the meals—the same as the share who say they are the primary grocery shoppers.

It is safe to say TikTok users are obsessed with the shopping cart, which White compares to an old person’s shopping trolley.

“Bring your own shopping cart should be a thing. No bags needed just go home carry the bins in and put everything away. No germy cart to share with everyone,” said one comment with over 46,000 likes.

“No because this is actually genius,” said another user. A third commenter wrote: “It’s like a shopping pram.”
