Fredonia falls in D1 matchup with Falconer

FREDONIA — Mylie Zaranek had 12 kills and six digs as Falconer swept Fredonia 25-23, 25-23, 25-18 in Chautauqua-Cattaraugus Athletic Association Division 1 girls volleyball Monday.

Hannah Melquist had seven aces, five kills, 23 assists and eight digs; Emily Zaranek had an ace, nine kills and 11 digs; and Augustine Krenzer had three kills and 14 digs for the Golden Falcons (5-0, 2-0).

Londyn Wilmot had eight kills and 10 digs; Lydia LaBarr had eight kills, three aces and 11 digs; Kaylen Rollins had five kills, three aces and seven digs; Maddie Saunders had two aces, 13 assists and 18 digs; and Elizabeth Morris had seven kills and 14 digs for the Hillbillies (2-2, 1-2).

GROUP POWERS CHAUTAUQUA LAKE

MAYVILLE — Jeanine Group had seven kills, while Brina Jacobson had six kills, 12 assists and seven digs to lead Chautauqua Lake past Westfield 25-11, 25-21, 25-15 in Division 3 play.

Noli Paddock added three blocks and three kills, while Makenna Smith had three kills, four aces and two digs for the Eagles (3-0, 2-0).

Maddie Burgess led the Wolverines (3-2, 1-1) with 17 assists and two aces, while Arielle Corbett had four kills and a dig.

Chautauqua Lake won the jayvee match.

JOHNSON, BODAMER SHINE

CLYMER — Lily Johnson had seven kills and Elli Bodamer added six as Clymer beat Sherman 24-26, 25-14, 25-20, 25-22 in Division 4 action.

Janelle Burchanowski had three kills, 11 assists, six digs and 11 aces; Johnson had three blocks, eight digs and seven aces; Bodamer had eight digs and six aces; and Addie Wigger had five assists and an ace for the Pirates (3-2, 2-0).

Kenadi Long had two kills, seven assists and three aces; Madison Emory had two kills, two digs and four aces; and Caylee Pinzok had two kills, an assist and an ace for the Wildcats (3-3, 1-1).

Clymer won the jayvee match.

BLACK KNIGHTS PREVAIL

ELLERY — Silver Creek topped Maple Grove 25-21, 19-25, 25-19, 25-13 in Division 3 play.

The Black Knights improved to 2-1 overall and 1-1 in the league.

For the Red Dragons (1-2, 0-1), Bayley Godfrey had six kills, 10 digs and six aces; Cambria Fiorella had six kills; Bry Cornell had six kills, six blocks and 10 digs; Cady Rodgers had six digs and two aces; Piper Faulk had six kills, two blocks and two aces; Mady Haglund had 15 assists, two blocks, 10 digs and two aces; and Zoe Foley had two kills and 17 digs.

ANDERSON PUTS DOWN 13 KILLS

SOUTH DAYTON — Emiley Anderson had 13 kills and four aces as Cassadaga Valley beat Pine Valley 25-13, 25-15, 23-25, 25-8 in Division 4 action.

Payton Meder had seven kills and two aces; Hailey Anderson had 18 digs and nine aces; and Alexis Pattyson had nine assists and seven aces for the Cougars (1-5, 1-1).

Lizzie Roland led the Panthers (1-3, 0-2) with five kills, seven digs and two aces; Danica Farnham had five assists, three blocks, three aces and four digs; Madilynn Robertson had three digs, five assists and two aces; and Cameron Rhinehart had four digs and three kills.

RANDOLPH FINISHES STRONG

RANDOLPH — A 25-6 fourth set helped Randolph put away Southwestern 25-22, 22-25, 25-21, 25-6 in nonleague action.

The Cardinals, who are 3-0 in Division 2, improved to 4-1 overall.

Madi Burnett had eight kills and four aces; Juliet Genareo had eight kills and a block; Reagan Stutzman had six kills and two blocks; Bella Sirianni had 16 digs and 24 assists; and Payton Swartz had 11 digs for the Trojans (3-2, 2-1 Division 1).

HORTON, KOLSTEE POWER PANAMA

BROCTON — Kaitlyn Horton and McKenna Kolstee each had eight kills as Panama beat Brocton 25-9, 27-25, 25-20 in Division 3 play.

Horton had a block, nine digs and three aces; Kiera Loberg had three kills, 22 assists, seven digs and an ace; and Kolstee added two digs and two aces for the Panthers (3-1, 1-0).

Grace Lundin led the Bulldogs (1-3, 0-2) with two assists and six digs; Ary Nickerson had seven kills and seven blocks; and Jax Young had a kill, 10 assists and three digs.

Panama won the jayvee match.
