— On Wednesday, Aug. 14, four local businesses were recognized by the Alexandria Lakes Area Chamber of Commerce Ambassadors.
The Henn House, owned and operated by Jacob Henn, is located at 1710 Fillmore St. where the Runestone Animal Medical Center was previously situated. It offers functional fitness classes, sports performance programs and open member access, and it empowers “athletes and fitness enthusiasts to reach their potential,” said the press release. Darling Shores, previously known as Shady Lawn Resort, is a new vacation home rental association in Alexandria. The property features six vacation rental cabins, encompassing various sizes with different features that make them all unique. The Friends of Christmas originally formed as a small group of community members who shared a dream of having more community gathering opportunities surrounding the Christmas holiday. Their vision was to expand on Christmas in the Fort and the Downtown Lighting Ceremony put on by the Runestone Museum Foundation. Ollie Birch Boutique + Lounge recently moved to a new location at 518 Broadway St., which was formerly the location for Potomac Bead/iTry Studios. “The move included major changes,” said the press release.
