The City of Dunkirk and Mayor Kate Wdowiasz will host the Dunkirk Heritage Festival on Saturday, Aug. 31, from 11 a.m. to 7:15 p.m. at 64 Lake Shore Drive East in the grassy lot between the Clarion Hotel and Tim Hortons.
Sponsored by Special Metals, LLC and DFT Communications, the cultural event will have live music, food trucks, beverage tent with $3 can beers and a few vendors.
The musical lineup, which has been recently updated, includes The New Direction Band (11 a.m. to 2 p.m. with polka music), Turbulence (2:30 p.m. to 4:30 p.m.) and headliner Familiar Spirit Band (5 p.m. to 7:15 p.m.).
Representing the food and craft/gift segments are Arly & Izzy’s, The Best of Buffalo by Byron, Whimsy & Sparkle Handmade Jewelry, Nalepa’s Novelties, Jamestown Community College, Absolut Care of Westfield, Dunkirk Historical Society and Health Research, Inc. – Roswell Park Division.
The City of Dunkirk’s next event, under the direction of Alexis Tofil, Youth & Recreation Coordinator, will be a Halloween event for community children and families on Wednesday, October 30 from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. in the courtyard and inside the Stearns Building next to city hall.
