Amazon officially announced that it will once again hold a Prime Day in October, marking the third time that it held the mega sale twice in one year. This year, the sale will once again be dubbed “Prime Big Deal Days 2024.”
The massive sales event is expected to offer some of the best deals of the year for Prime members just ahead of the holiday shopping season. This typically includes huge markdowns across Amazon’s extensive lineup of electronics, home goods, fashion, beauty and more.

When is Amazon Prime Day in October?
Amazon’s second Prime Day sale of the year will return this October.
The retail giant has not released the official dates of the big sale just yet, but it did say that more details will be available in the coming months.
While we don’t know the exact dates of this Prime Day in October to date, we do speculate that Amazon will hold the sale around October 15-16 or 22-23 based on past years.
Last year, Amazon held its second Prime Day sale October 10-11, so we expect the dates in 2024 to fall in close proximity.
What is Amazon Prime Day?
Amazon’s Prime Day sales are its biggest sale’s events of the year. These two-day sales traditionally offer the lowest prices of the season from Amazon on all those hot-ticket items you’ve had on your wishlist all year.
Prime Day in October ideally comes ahead of the holidays, allowing Prime members to score big discounts on gifts. This is also a huge opportunity for Prime shoppers to start their holiday shopping early.
Do I need to be a Prime member to shop Prime Day in October?
Yes. Amazon only offers the deep discounts of Prime Day to Prime members. As a Prime members not only will you save during this exclusive sales, but you’ll get access to early Prime Day deals as well as fast, free shipping on most purchases.
An Amazon Prime membership costs $14.99 a month or $139 a year. You’ll also receive perks like Prime Video streaming, access to Amazon Music, free Grubhub+ membership, pharmacy discounts and more.
Will there be early Prime Day deals?
Amazon usually kicks off Prime Day with early deals that roll in a few weeks before the sale starts. This includes big price drops that you can snag ahead of Prime Day on the top products of the season.
In the past, Prime Day in October had early deals on TVs, electronic devices, small kitchen appliances, robot vacuums, shoes, apparel and the hottest toys of the holiday season.
But like Prime Day, these early price drops aren’t around for long, so you’ll want to grab them while you can at these low prices. It’s also a great way to check off items on your holiday shopping list that could sell out over Black Friday.
What are the best deals to shop for during Amazon Prime Day in October?
While we don’t know exactly what Amazon will have for sale during this second Prime Day sale, we do expect it to include similar deals from its Prime Day in July.
