The Valledolmo Invitational Golf Classic was held on Monday, Aug. 5 at Shorewood Country Club.

Italian and Sicilian food delicacies were the order of the day. A box lunch prepared by Chef Rich Semonian and his staff contained a classic Italian sandwich with Italian meat and cheese charcuterie, pickled eggplant and a cucidati cookie. Dinner started with appetizers of tripe provided by Scott Parker, eggplant caponata prepared by Jeff LaBarbera of The Colony Restaurant, Steve “Spanky” Zatarski’s summer pasta, Paul Luce’s Favata-style pizza and Cindy Coniglio’s olive salad. The main course consisted of antipasto, Italian pasta salad and sausage with peppers and onions all done expertly by the Shorewood kitchen staff. Dessert featured fresh-baked Italian cookies by Lisa Brisley and Bob Cerrie.

Ross Conti was the overall champion winning the Paul LoPresto Memorial Trophy. Angelo Cusimano captured his second senior title and was awarded the Charlie Alessi Sr. Memorial trophy. Kevin Kaszuba won Ron “Moony” Rys Trophy for the low Polish-American score. The Vito Corleone Flight was won by Chuck Civiletto with Mick Dunning the runnerup.
