British sportswear major JD Sports Fashion has introduced digital kiosks in its Israeli stores, aiming to enhance the in-store shopping experience.
The sports fashion retailer collaborated with its partners at WeDev Technologies to develop the solution, as described by e-commerce head Hay Dick in a LinkedIn post.
The digital kiosk is integrated with JD Sports’ e-commerce platform, offering customers real-time access to the company’s full inventory.
The digital kiosks serve as an extension of the retailer’s online presence, allowing customers to easily locate and order products that may not be available on the shelves.
Customers can place their orders directly through the kiosk and have them delivered to their homes.
Hay Dick said: “After months of hard work, collaboration and countless hours of work, our digital kiosks are now available in JD Sports physical store!
“This project is a testament to the power of innovation and collaboration. I’m incredibly proud of the work our team has done to bring this to life, and I can’t wait to see how it transforms the shopping experience for our customers.
The first kiosk was launched at Azrieli Mall Rishonim, with plans to roll out to other stores soon.
In June 2024, JD Sports Fashion reported profit before tax and adjusted items of £912.4m ($1.16bn) in the 52 weeks to 27 January 2024 (FY24), down 8% compared with FY23.
In April, JD Sports also expanded its footprint in the US market through a $1.1bn acquisition of Hibbett, an American athletic apparel retailer with 1,100 stores across 36 states.
“JD Sports Israel enhances in-store shopping with new digital kiosks ” was originally created and published by Retail Insight Network, a GlobalData owned brand.
