Many Texas Longhorn fans are aware of the University of Texas academic excellence but now that the Longhorns are in the SEC, where do they rank among SEC schools?
“It Just Mean More” is the SEC’s motto, referring to their commitment to and passion for college football while simultaneously caring about the academic standing of its member schools.
As one of the nation’s best academic conferences overall, the SEC is not as highly ranked from top to bottom as the Big Ten and ACC, but it is closer than one may think to competing with them academically. Additionally, Oklahoma and Texas were added to the SEC this year, expanding its membership by two schools helping boost the conference’s academic standing among other conferences.
The main ranking system used to assess how one national university, such as the University of Texas-Austin, stacks up against other colleges in the country is the U.S. News World & Report. Five SEC universities are among the top 50 in the world. Let’s take a look at where all 14 SEC schools are ranked.
