PORTLAND (WGME) — Secretary of Transportation Pete Buttigieg continued his trip around Maine Wednesday.
Pete Buttigieg is in Portland Wednesday, highlighting federal investments in the state.
Wednesday morning, he was at the Portland International Marine Terminal.
There he was joined with Governor Janet Mills, where they talked about cold storage and other upgrades including pavement work and upgrading gates.
“But I’m especially impressed by these small, midsize ports that really punch above their weight class and that’s what I’m seeing here in Portland,” Buttigieg said. “We know they’re a very important part of our economy and how we create jobs is to support the movement of goods.”
Wednesday afternoon, Buttigieg will be in the East Deering neighborhood hosting a press conference to talk about the progress of the Biden-Harris administration investments across Maine.
His first stop Tuesday was to tour two new bridges in Freeport that are being built over I-295.
