Dunkirk’s Music on the Pier Summer Concert Series will host Mayflower Hill and Hello City Barenaked Ladies Tribute for Alternative Pop Rock Night at the Dunkirk Pier this Thursday.

The concerts are presented by DFT Communications with stage sponsor National Grid and production company Advanced Production Group (APG). Mayflower Hill starts at 5:25 p.m. and Hello City takes the stage at 7 p.m.

This week’s music is sponsored by Nestle Purina. Mayflower Hill, hailing from Northwest Pennsylvania, consists of Steve Soliwoda, Jared Cooney, Tyler Woodruff, Dave Tucker who specializes in country, pop, and rock. They been a band since 2012 and have opened for renowned acts such as Jo Dee Messina, Lo Cash, Dustin Lynch, and Rodney Adkins. Their self-titled debut album captures their unique country rock style and they plan to unveil their next full-length album later this summer.

Hello City is the Northeast’s premier live tribute to Barenaked Ladies. The band is comprised of members of some of Western New York’s top original and cover bands and include Jim Marconi (lead vocals), Brandon Sheffer (lead vocals/guitar), Ben Overmyer (bass), Alf Encina (drums) and Adam Whiting (keys).

Collectively, the band has decades of experience playing live shows at the region’s top venues, festivals, and events and has sold out nearly every venue they’ve performed at since first hitting the stage with this group in 2020.

The performance includes a deep set list that spans the entire BNL catalog, including classic live show mashups and stage antics. Food and other vendors will be on site along with the city’s beverage tent.

The Dunkirk Boardwalk Marketplace and surrounding businesses will also be open. Guests are reminded to bring a chair. The pier will close at 2 p.m. that day. All parked vehicles must be cleared by that time.

A special thanks goes out to Roger Gloss of Atlas Comfort Cabins/Lawn Mowing/Enviro-Kleen Services for donating the use of the portable toilet located near the pier stage.
