Quincy City Council discusses public work plans for city water infrastructure

Must read

QUINCY (WGEM) – Quincy City Council discussed multiple plans in regards to the city’s water infrastructure.

Around eight resolutions were presented to the council board Monday night. Some of the highlights include a $1.9 million agreement for the water treatment plant pump station.

Other water related projects consisted of pipe repairs, valve replacements, sewer repairs and much more.

City planners said, while expensive, these resolutions are beneficial to the city and are needed to be done.

“All of the other bills we had were either paying invoices, or purchasing supplies for stock or repairs to water mains, and valves and stuff like that. Proposals to purchase a vehicle to replace a vehicle that is no longer in service, just some housekeeping stuff,” said Quincy Director of Public Works Jeffrey Conte.

The city council voted to approve of all the resolutions.
