Must read

Cooper Medical School of Rowan University (CMSRU) has earned high ratings among the 2024 Best Medical Schools for Primary Care and Research by U.S. News & World Report.

“I am incredibly proud of CMSRU for once again being recognized among the best medical schools in the country by U.S. News & World Report this year with a Tier 2 rating in Primary Care and Tier 3 in Research. Our Tier 2 Primary Care rating is higher than any medical school in the Philadelphia region and the entire State of New Jersey,” said Annette C. Reboli, MD, dean of CMSRU. “At CMSRU, we are committed to excellence in medical education, research, and community service, and this recognition reaffirms our efforts to cultivate physician leaders who are compassionate, innovative, and dedicated to improving patient care and health outcomes. This recognition is especially noteworthy since we are facing a shortage of primary care physicians in New Jersey and across the country.”

This is the first year that U.S. News has used a tiered rating system. Only schools in Tier 1 and Tier 2 are eligible to use Best Medical School award badges in recognition of their excellence.

Designed for prospective students seeking a degree in medicine, this edition of Best Medical Schools provides students with access to data from medical schools in research and primary care across the country.

By collecting graduate school data annually, U.S. News can present actionable data on enrollment, faculty-student ratio, and other critical quality indicators that help prospective students make informed decisions.
