Google is launching the Pixel 9 family on August 13, and one new addition to the lineup will be Pixel 9 Pro XL. It is expected to arrive as the natural successor of the Pixel 8 Pro with an XL body and Pro camera capabilities, and that’s why a YouTube channel called PixoPhone compared those two devices in a hands-on video.

The two phones will have a similar matte finish on the back, and it looks like the Pixel 9 Pro XL will be about the same size as the Pixel 8 Pro. And that’s where the visual similarities end.
The Pixel 9 Pro XL will have a flat frame instead of going for curved edges like the Pixel 8 Pro. The cameras on the back appeared to be aligned in the same order, but now the island is oval-shaped rather than spanning from one end to the other.

The corners of the new phone will be more round, and thanks to the flat sides, there is a smaller chance for the phone to leave a mark on the palm with its sharp body. There is also a Pixel 9 in the background on the table, which we have seen in a previous video by the same channel.
