Two hospitals are tied for the best in Michigan, according to U.S. News and World Report’s “Best Hospitals” rankings for 2024-25.
University of Michigan Health-Ann Arbor and Corewell Health William Beaumont University Hospital in Royal Oak both ranked No. 1 in the state.
In addition, the Ann Arbor health system also ranked first in the state for children’s hospitals, as well as third out of all Midwest children’s hospitals.
Both hospitals ranked nationally in numerous specialty care categories. University of Michigan Health saw top-10 rankings for its ear, nose and throat, ophthalmology and rheumatology cares.

Corewell Health in Royal Oak ranked in the top-10 in obstetrics and gynecology.

The rest of the Michigan hospitals ranked on the list, in order, are:
- Corewell Health Grand Rapids Hospital-Blodgett and Butterworth
- Henry Ford Hospital in Detroit
- Corewell Health Beaumont Troy Hospital
- Munson Medical Center in Traverse City
- Trinity Health Ann Arbor Hospital
- Corewell Health Beaumont Grosse Pointe Hospital
- Corewell Health Dearborn Hospital
- Ascension Genesys Hospital in Grand Blanc
- Ascension Providence Hospital-Southfield
- Bronson Methodist Hospital in Kalamazoo
- Henry Ford West Bloomfield Hospital
- Trinity Health Oakland Hospital
- Henry Ford Macomb Hospitals
- Ascension St. John Hospital in Detroit
- Trinity Health Muskegon
