  • A new estimate says the MTA likely spent $1 billion on its preparations for congestion pricing — all of which will likely go down the drain after Gov. Kathy Hochul suspended the new tolling system.
  • A New York City man who went swimming off Breezy Point yesterday morning and got sucked out by a riptide was later rescued 2 miles from Sandy Hook, New Jersey, after treading water for hours. 
  • Several Queens lawmakers are trying to get the state to classify reckless driving in a parking lot as a misdemeanor after repeated complaints of people drag racing and doing doughnuts in a Fresh Meadows shopping center.
  • The city is cracking down on kava bars.
  • A “spy” told Page Six that Hailey “Hawk Tuah Girl” Welch, who’s been raking in appearance fees at bars on Long Island, plans to devote some of that money to “animals and giving pizza to the homeless.” 
  • The national anthem singer at last night’s Home Run Derby put her own spin on the classic.
