Chef Adam Luiso has a new base with a new kitchen to cook up new creations.

Luiso and his catering operation, Chef N Company, are now operating out of the newly renovated American Legion Post 1 home in Elm Grove. He’ll host a private dinner tonight for about 300 invited friends to kick off the opening of Chef N Company at Post 1.

“We are now in partnership with the Legion, and we’ll be leasing and running the event space there as well,” Luiso explained. “It has been remodeled from top to bottom. There’s new floors, chairs, tables … everything. We have 85-inch televisions, a stage, a microphone … There was a full overhaul.”

A full covered deck has been added to the front of the building complete with ceiling fans, and that will provide some additional space for meetings and events.

“We’re taking over the entire event space, and helping the Legion,” Luiso continued. “They still want to do events and steak frys. Their mission is to help give back, and our partnership is really important in that regard. I feel we can bring people to the table and generate money for them. It’s a really good partnership.”

John Powell, American Legion Post 1 Home Corporation president, expressed excitement at the prospect of Luiso running the Legion hall.

“This is a great opportunity for the Legion,” he said. “This allows the building to be utilized to the potential it should be. It frees us up to do what we should be doing — taking care of veterans.”

Luiso wants to work with local nonprofits to give them a place to raise money for their organizations. He also plans to continue his catering business. The new kitchen was passed for inspection by the Ohio County Health Department, and he is already cooking there.

“We are fully moved and ready,” Luiso said. “(The kitchen) is nice, shiny and sparkly across the board. There’s even a double-deck oven and a gigantic smoker and all the bells and whistles in between.”

In addition to catering, Luiso offers cooking classes for both adults and children, personalized dining experiences and consulting services. The public can also order dinners for pickup from Luiso on Tuesdays through Fridays. The week’s menu can be found on the Chef N Company Facebook page.

Two dinners prepared by Luiso are priced at two for $40; four for $75 and six for $110. All dinners include a protein, a starch, and a vegetable or fresh fruit dish. Luiso offers special pre-order menus for the holidays.

“Our goal is to provide people a wholesome meal for a reasonable cost,” Luiso said. “This move will definitely allow us the opportunity to expand our services.”

Luiso established Chef N Company in 2022 with his wife, Brandy Luiso following extensive experience as an executive chef at a number of Pittsburgh restaurants. Among them were Eddie V’s Prime Seafood, Ditka’s Restaurant and the Hyde Park Prime Steakhouse.
