Must read

Uzbekistan’s government is working on an initiative to provide prisoners with online shopping via kiosks, according to a Daryo report.

The kiosks, which feature facial recognition, will be installed in detention facilities, allowing inmates and families to browse and order goods.

This program aims to streamline the process of acquiring necessary items for prisoners, improving convenience and accessibility. The kiosks will be managed by a chosen investor, selected through a tender process based on experience in e-commerce, software capabilities and financial stability, according to the report. The investor will be granted a lease agreement lasting between six months and three years.
