Three facing narcotics charges in city

Three individuals are facing charges after an eight-month investigation into narcotics activity in Dunkirk.

A search warrant was executed at 91 Lincoln Ave. by investigators from the Dunkirk Police Department, the Chautauqua County Sheriff’s Office and Jamestown Police Department around 5:40 a.m. Friday. Entry was made into the residence by the Dunkirk Police Special Response Team. Located in the residence at the time of the search warrant was Alberta M. Maxwell-Battle, Charles Collins and Jamel Hall.

As a result of the search, investigators seized 8.31 grams of crack cocaine, scales and packaging material for the distribution of narcotics and a quantity of currency. Maxwell-Battle, 42, of Dunkirk, was charged with third-degree criminal sale of a controlled substance and second-degree criminally using drug paraphernalia. Maxwell-Battle also had an arrest warrant out of the City of Dunkirk Court for third-degree criminal sale of a controlled substance and third-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance.

Collins, 45, of Rochester was charged with third-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance and second-degree criminally using drug paraphernalia. Hall, 24, of Dunkirk was charged with second-degree obstruction of governmental administration. All subjects were transported to Dunkirk City Court for arraignment.
